mlforbeginners.com publishes free educational material about the mathematics behind machine learning. This page explains what that material is, and what it is not.
Educational use only
Everything on this site is written for learning. It is not professional advice, and it is not a substitute for a qualified instructor, a textbook, or peer-reviewed literature. Worked examples are chosen to make a concept clear, which sometimes means they are simplified relative to how the same method is applied in production.
No warranty of accuracy
The guides and calculators here are written and checked carefully, but no guarantee is made that every derivation, figure or numerical result is free of error. Mathematics is unforgiving and mistakes happen. If you find one, please report it — corrections are made and noted.
Do not rely on a result from this site for academic submission, financial decisions, medical or engineering work, or anything else with consequences, without verifying it independently.
Calculators
The calculators run entirely in your browser. They are provided to show the working behind a method, not as certified computational tools. Floating-point arithmetic introduces rounding, and results for ill-conditioned inputs may be unstable. Check anything that matters against a second source.
